Seal Primary Academy is an academy as part of The Kemnal Academies Trust (TKAT). 

TKAT is a multi-academy trust which was established on 1st September 2010.  Its constitution is set out in the Articles of Association and this is shared with individual academies via the Scheme of Delegation.  TKAT have, through the Scheme of Delegation, established Local Governing Bodies for each of the Academies.

The Local Governing Body of each of the Academies is responsible for fulfilling the strategic and operational governance role in the conduct of the Academy.

Seal Primary Academy Local Governing Body (LGB)

Mission Statement

Our aim at Seal is very simple: to provide the community with a high quality primary school that doesn’t settle for second best. We endeavour for our children to leave school with high quality skills and an unwavering belief and confidence in their ability. In order to do this, all the work we embark on at Seal follows our school motto:  Aspire, Believe and Achieve

Membership

We currently have 11 governors:

  • 1 Headteacher
  • 2 staff governors
  • 2 parent governors
  • 6 appointed governors

 

Chair of Governors:                Geoff Conway, an appointed governor

Vice-Chair of Governors:        Andrew Jenkins, an appointed governor

The constitution document is not yet agreed by TKAT – a link to the agreed document will be added to website in due course.

Structure

There are six meetings of the full Local Governing Body each academic year.  In addition to this, there is one committee with delegated responsibility laid out in their terms of reference.

Pay Committee

The Pay committee will meet at least once each academic year to receive and approve the Headteacher’s recommendations for teachers pay.

Impact Statement

There is a link on the website to the impact statement for 2016-17. The impact statement for 2017-18 is still at draft stage and a link will be added to the website when it is agreed by the LGB.
